Wheelchair Accessible Samsung Smart Refrigerator
This project focused on designing a wheelchair-accessible Samsung Smart Refrigerator that improves day-to-day ease of life for users with mobility challenges. The goal was to create an app-integrated, user-focused product that prioritizes accessibility in every detail. From researching user needs to developing personas, mapping the user journey, and building 3D mockups, each step was geared toward a functional, durable, and inclusive design. The result is an accessible refrigerator that empowers users and promotes independence in the kitchen.

The Design Process
To kick off this project, I started with thorough research on smart refrigerators and similar products to understand the competition and define clear goals for both the business and future users. With accessibility at the forefront, I created two user personas to represent our primary and secondary audiences, helping me prioritize ease of use and essential features. From there, I built a mood board inspired by Samsung’s design style and sketched initial ideas for the product’s look and feel.
Once the foundation was set, I mapped out the user journey and created flowcharts to outline how users would interact with the refrigerator and its app. This step-by-step planning helped make sure the experience would be intuitive and seamless. To refine the design, I conducted user research and made a few final tweaks based on feedback. The process wrapped up with 3D mockups of the refrigerator, app designs, and a poster that visually ties everything together, capturing the spirit of an accessible, user-friendly smart appliance.
